The winter solstice – the darkest and shortest day of the year – is a time of peaceful reflection. At this time we celebrate the returning of the light. We welcome back the sun, gradually growing in strength until the Summer Solstice. So many cultures and traditions are celebrating at this time, singing and celebrating to awaken the sun and welcome back the light.
This cold and dark time reminds us go within to rekindle our flame in the comfort of our homes and hearths. It is a time to remember and send blessings to those not as fortunate to have a warm home and shelter.
It is also important to remember that people in the Southern Hemisphere will be celebrating their Summer Solstice which is the opposite of our Winter Solstice. By honoring nature’s balance of Yin and Yang, receiving and giving, dark and light, unrevealed and revealed we can understand the true meaning of peace on earth.
This is the prayer I hold for all of you at this time of endings and renewal: May all negative energies, all negative emotions, all negative thoughts and beliefs be removed from you, us, our country, our planet, and uplifted into the highest realms of Light and Love, where they may be transmuted into unconditional Love, for the greater good of all!
The black moment is the moment when the real message of transformation is going to come.
At the darkest moment comes the light.
